THE INSPECTION
Step 1. The Inspection
We begin with providing a thorough forensic storm damage inspection. If substantial storm damage exists to your property, we will document our findings and consult with you a best practices course of action.
THE CLAIM
Step 2. Filing the Claim
You will need to contact your insurance company and file a claim. You will need a specific storm date or what is called date of loss. If a date is unknown, we can order a storm data report for your specific address and confirm storm data recorded up to 5 years back. If you would like, we may make the call with you and speak on your behalf during a call with your insurance company claims department. When you report a loss to your insurance company a claim number will be assigned to track the process of your claim.
CONFIRM DATES
Step 3. Confirming the Insurance Inspection Date
After you have filed the claim, you will receive a call from an insurance adjuster. This adjuster has been assigned to your claim and will contact you to set up a date and time to inspect your property. It is very important that you write down the adjusters name and phone number. When you are contacted by your adjuster we recommend that you ask that he/she contact us to schedule a time so that we may also be present during the inspection of your property.
MEET ADJUSTER
Step 4. Meeting the Insurance Adjuster
It is very important that we are able to meet your insurance adjuster at your property to represent your best interest during the initial inspection. Our goal is to ensure that all damages are documented including your roof, gutter, siding etc. and that all repairs are agreed and approved the day of the inspection. By meeting with your adjuster during the initial inspection will expedite the claims process and assist in getting your repairs scheduled ASAP. If we cannot meet with your adjuster, it is possible that certain items that should be repaired or replaced may be overlooked. If this should happen, we can always initiate what is called a supplement and request an additional inspection if needed.
EVALUATE DAMAGE
Step 5. Evaluating Storm Damage with your Insurance Adjuster
During our inspection with your insurance company, we will thoroughly evaluate and review all damages both inside and outside of your property with your insurance adjuster. After we determine the damages found to your property, we can then agree on the scope of work needed to restore your property and the approximate cost of repairs. Once we are complete and upon final review by your insurance company, repairs will be approved and a proposed insurance estimate including scope of work will be sent to you. This may take up to 10 days for you to receive your insurance paperwork. It is always a best practice to request that they email you this paperwork.
REVIEW ESTIMATES
Step 6. Review of the Adjuster’s Estimate
Once you receive your adjuster’s estimate and insurance documents via snail mail or requested by e-mail, you will forward a copy to Choice Solutions LLC for us to review. After a thorough review for accuracy, we will then prepare and schedule a time to meet with you so we may discuss your objectives and the course of action to completing all the needed repairs.
